PulP Magazine
Oh god pulp magazine! I didn't enjoy this project, I got taken on with a few days to go before the mag had to go to print and to top it all off the submissions weren't in! Anyways come print day the editor saw fit to change my layouts so the images below aren't actually a representation of my printed work, but I assure you are miles better than those that appeared in the mag...i'm not bitter, honest.
FELT! at the Link, and Free Felt!
Producing the first series of toys based on my doodles and designs, i've now given most of them away to friends, so these photos are the only record I have! Fortunately the series 1 felt toys were just experiments and will soon be making way for a new breed of better creations, as soon as I upload the photos, you'll see them here...
Zombie Photoshoot
The coolest thing i've done in ages...Its only about halfway through but eventually i hope to have about 5 shots, in this kind of Romero, Grindhouse style light. the idea was to promote contemporary watch and trainer designs, but in a new and interesting way, the industrial starkness of the location and the mood and themes used contrast with the candy colored objects.
The makeup and prosthesis I did myself, as for the art direction, that was a collaborative effort with a friend, who also took the photographs.
Tetris Font
I honestly don't remember why I produced this, one day ill get round to editing it, making it 3 dimensional, or turning into a physical object. How cool would it be to have this stuff stuck on walls around a city?
DVD Packaging
DVD for my Dads digital exhibition. His work from 89-09 was turned into a digital slideshow, and it was up to me to package this product. I came up with the idea of drawing from the abstract art he produced, using illustrator I created the outline shapes and then formatted text to flow within predesigned boxes.
The entire sheet was printed at A1 and then folded down to enclose the DVD, reducing packaging costs, and when folded out, the individual lines formed new and interesting compositions...
Milky Tee
Packaging design for an ethical brand of tee shirts, Milky Tee wanted their boxed shirts to be quirky, carbon neutral and fun. I developed a milk carton package that would hold a shirt, and could be folded up from a single a3 sheet of paper, including swing tickets and barcode tag.
Snakes Hate Fire
Photography from a Snakes Hate Fire gig, the brief was to take these photos, edit them, and then add minimal text and branding whilst still promoting the group...
There may well be a continuation of this project as I developed a large number of shots and edited them, possibly taking this into a range of posters or using the 'bars' style as a webpage idea...
FCUK Rebranding - Part 2
Taking the FCUk rebrand further I developed the idea of a possible creative advocacy scheme for FCUK to promote, whereby they would encourage artists to produce work in line with their ethos, and in return for publishing and promoting the work, artists would advocate FCUK, thus realigning the brand as Beck's beer has...
FCUK Rebranding - Part 1
This was part of my final major at university. Originally the idea was to produce illustrative work for FCUK to use in their stores, and I produced 5 images based on creating new phrases from the letters FCUK.
Folklore Comes Unless Killed
Fire Courses Under Krakatoa
Flight Crews Upset Korea
Flux Magazine - Satan Comes To Bucharest
God this is really old, I was asked to create layouts for FLUX magazine by John Walsh, their art director. Here are three, the illustrations are my own, and to be honest, are the only thing i'm happy about with them...
To be honest the last one isn't that bad, its the one I eventually submitted, and the only one to use most of my original imagery...
The All Seeing Eye
I don't actually know what i'm going to do with there images, they relate vaguely to the Felt stuff i've been doing. Ill keep you posted on what happens to them on here. They would look cool as posters or screenprinted so ill have a mess about with colorways and two/ tree color options I think...
